A heat wave broiling Europe continues to fuel ferocious wildfires in Spain's north-eastern region of Catalonia. Officials say that more than 1,600 hectares (nearly 4,000 acres) of land has been affected. Firefighters are working around the clock to battle the flames that have encroached on residential areas and forced thousands of people to evacuate. (July 19)
